Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Deshaun Watson’s accusers, recently announced all but four of the sexual misconduct lawsuits against Watson have settled.
Today, I announce that all cases against Deshaun Watson, with the exception of four, have settled.
We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements. Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed.
The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won’t comment further on the settlements or those cases.
Ironically, Deshaun Watson’s jersey number is 4.
Ashley Solis, the first massage therapist to accuse Watson of sexual misconduct (2021), is one of the four women who still have a lawsuit pending.
Tony Buzbee stated:
Ashley Solis is one of the heroes of this story.
Her case has not settled and thus her story and that of the other three brave women will continue.
I look forward to trying these cases in due course, consistent with other docket obligations and the court’s schedule.
Deshaun Watson was never arrested or criminally charged over any of the allegations, and he has continuously denied all wrongdoing.
As recent as last week he stated that he “never assaulted anyone.”
The Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a fully guaranteed 5-year contract worth $230 million in March for him to play quarterback for the franchise.
The contract is the most guaranteed money at signing in NFL history, the previous record was $150 million (Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen).
Watson has not responded to Buzbee’s announcement.
