Spice is grateful to be alive.
The Grammy-nominated “Queen of Dancehall” took to Instagram on Wednesday to set the record straight and offer an update on her recent health crisis.
About a week ago, conflicting reports and rumors began to spread like wildfire claiming Spice had suffered a heart attack and was in a coma after traveling to the Dominican Republic to undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure.
Fans took to social media to express their concern and to send up prayers for the “Go Down Deh” singer.
In a statement posted on her Instagram page, Spice, whose real name is Grace Hamilton, shared that she suffered a damaged hernia that sent her body into sepsis.
A hernia occurs when an internal organ or other body part protrudes through the wall of muscle or tissue that normally contains it.
Sepsis, also commonly known as “blood poisoning,” is typically caused by a bacterial infection.
The “So Mi Like It” singer said reports claiming she had suffered a heart attack and was in a coma are untrue.

Hey Besties I’m in a better space today to properly update you on my current health situation.
I suffered a damage hernia a few days ago that sent my body into sepsis, as a result I was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery.
As you know I’ve been off Social Media for a while to rest mentally, so little did I know that during my medical scare it was already been said that I had a heart attack, I was in a Coma, and I also died ??♀️but none of that is true.
However I’m still recovering from what really happened so thanks so much for all the prayers and concerns, please take great care of yourself, eat, live, love laugh, like it’s your last day, I LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCH ???????
