“Color Book” On Netflix Follows A Father And Son Through Grief And Healing

In his feature directorial debut, David Fortune tells the story of Lucky, played by William Catlett, a devoted father trying to rebuild life after the loss of his wife.

At the center of the story is Lucky’s relationship with his son Mason, played by Jeremiah Daniels, who has Down syndrome.

As the two navigate their new reality together, they embark on a journey across Metro Atlanta to attend their first baseball game.

But “Color Book” quickly reveals itself to be much more than a simple road trip story.

The film explores grief, parenting, community, and the emotional weight of learning how to move forward after loss.

The project also stars Brandee Evans and Terri J. Vaughn.

“Color Book” Earned Major Attention Before Its Netflix Release

“Color Book” first made waves after winning the prestigious AT&T Untold Stories award at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, which included a $1 million prize and mentorship program to help turn the project into a feature-length film.

David Fortune shared:

“Color Book is a heartfelt story about love, family, and the communities we come from.”

And honestly, that heart is all over this trailer.

The black-and-white cinematography gives the film an intimate, deeply personal feeling that immediately stands out from everything else hitting streaming this month.
