If your watchlist could use a refresh, HBO Max has plenty of new titles arriving this July.
This month’s lineup includes the new “Big Bang Theory” spinoff “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” the Stephen King adaptation “The Long Walk,” an HBO documentary about Burning Man, and the A24 films “Marc by Sofia” and “The Drama.”
Here’s everything coming to HBO Max this July.
“Lee Cronin’s The Mummy”
Premieres: July 3
HBO Max kicks off the holiday weekend with the global streaming debut of “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.” The supernatural horror film follows a journalist whose young daughter mysteriously disappears into the desert. Eight years later, she’s returned to her family, but what should be a joyful reunion quickly turns into a living nightmare.
The film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón.
“The Man Will Burn”
Premieres: July 9
Since its beginnings in 1986, Burning Man has evolved from an underground counterculture gathering in San Francisco into a global cultural phenomenon. This four-part HBO Original documentary series follows the organization through years of unprecedented challenges as it works to preserve its founding values while adapting to rapid growth. New episodes premiere weekly.
“The Long Walk”
Premieres: July 10
Based on Stephen King’s first-written novel, “The Long Walk” follows a grueling endurance competition that forces participants to confront the limits of survival. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the thriller stars Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill.
“Marc by Sofia”
Premieres: July 16
Directed by Sofia Coppola, this A24 documentary offers an intimate portrait of legendary fashion designer Marc Jacobs, highlighting his creative process and the world behind one of America’s most influential designers.
“Stuart Fails to Save the Universe”
Premieres: July 23
Fans of The Big Bang Theory can return to that universe in this new Max Original comedy. After accidentally unleashing a multiverse catastrophe with a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, comic book store owner Stuart Bloom must team up with Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke to restore reality before it’s too late. The 10-episode series premieres weekly beginning July 23.
“The Drama”
Premieres: July 31
An engaged couple’s wedding week is thrown into chaos after an unexpected turn puts their relationship to the ultimate test. The A24 drama stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Benton Gates.
