Cardi B has won her federal libel lawsuit against Tasha K.
In March 2019, Cardi filed a defamation lawsuit against the popular blogger and YouTube star, who claimed the Grammy Award-winning artist is a drug addict, a former prostitute, and a gang member with herpes.
Tasha filed a $3 million countersuit against Cardi, but the case was ultimately thrown out.
During the two-week trial, Cardi B testified that she felt defeated, depressed and suicidal over the things Tasha was saying about her.
A jury found that Tasha K and her company, Kebe Studios LLC, were liable for:
- Defamation
- Invasion of Privacy – False Light
- Intentional Infliction of Emotion Distress
Cardi B was awarded $1,000,000 in general damages (pain and suffering and/or repetitional injury) and $250,000 in medical expenses.
After the verdict, Tasha K took to Twitter writing:
My Husband, Attorney’s, & I fought really hard. I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights. Winos it’s only up from here. See y’all in a few days.
Back to work.
I forgot to thank all of the viewers for all of your support. In this business, this is part of the protocol. Everyone in my seat has been through this, & this ain’t the last. This comes with the territory. See y’all Friday! It’s long overdue!
