I am completely heartbroken to report Betty White has passed away.
The beloved actress, comedian, and American Icon passed away at her Carmel, California on New Year’s Eve just before 9:30 a.m.
Betty’s passing comes just two weeks before her milestone 100th birthday on January 17.
Her agent, Jeff Witjas, released the following statement to People:
Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever.
I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.
I take comfort in knowing she received her flowers and knew that she was loved.
The celebration of her milestone birthday began early with magazine covers and there was a film, Betty White: 100 Years Young – a Birthday Celebration, slated to open in theaters on her 100th birthday.
Betty recently took to Twitter to announce the exciting celebratory events.
I was introduced to Betty White in her memorable role as “Rose Nylund” on “The Golden Girls.”
My sincerest condolences to the White family and all who knew and loved Betty.
May she rest in peace.
