Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is making headlines as X (formerly Twitter) reacts to his ongoing legal battle with Ayesha Howard over their four-month-old daughter, Aubri Summers Howard.

Ayesha Howard Files Paternity Suit

Ayesha Howard, 37, filed a paternity suit against the 23-year-old NBA player to establish child support for their daughter, born in October 2024.

The case took a major turn when a Los Angeles judge ruled in favor of Anthony Edwards, stating that California does not have jurisdiction over the matter.

At a recent hearing, Edwards successfully argued that Georgia—not California—should determine child support.

His legal team claimed Ayesha Howard, despite her assertions, was still a Georgia resident when she gave birth.

Anthony Edwards (“Starting 5“) maintains that Ayesha Howard deliberately gave birth in California to secure higher child support payments.

His lawyer stated, “[Ayesha’s] conduct here is unjustifiable and a bad faith attempt to obtain a higher child support order. Her efforts to manipulate the system for financial gain should not be tolerated.”

Despite presenting her driver’s license and Aubri’s birth certificate as evidence, Ayesha Howard lost this round.

The decision now moves to a judge in Georgia, though a separate hearing on March 20 will determine if California courts will rule on custody and visitation.

Anthony Edwards’ Stance On Custody

In December 2024, a paternity test confirmed that Anthony Edwards is Aubri’s father.

However, he made it clear in court that he has no intention of seeking custody or visitation.

His primary concern is resolving financial obligations.

Ayesha Howard Speaks Out

Ayesha Howard shared text messages in court, alleging that when she informed Anthony Edwards of her pregnancy, he laughed and told her to get an abortion before blocking her on all platforms.

In a sworn statement, she revealed, “Upon informing Anthony of the pregnancy, he blocked me and made it clear, through text messages, that he did not want to be involved in our child’s life. He said our daughter would be a ‘fatherless child.’”

She further stated, “From that point on, Anthony never reached out to inquire about my well-being, our child’s well-being, or any support I needed during my pregnancy.”

Ayesha Howard Addresses Criticism on Instagram

In February, Ayesha Howard took to Instagram to address criticism, saying society has become desensitized to abortion.

More recently, she shared DMs from Anthony Edwards to counter claims that she “trapped” him into fatherhood.

“I don’t normally expose my DMs, but let’s stop the ‘trapped’ and one-night stand narrative,” she wrote.

“This man pursued me for two years and didn’t stop until he got me and Aubri. He made the choice.”

However, one of the DMs she shared simply read, “Wya?”—leaving social media divided on her claims.

As expected, X is buzzing about this messy situation, with users debating both sides of the story.

Many are questioning Ayesha Howard’s motives, while others are calling out Anthony Edwards for his alleged response to the pregnancy.
