Netflix’s messiest (and most addictive) guilty pleasure is leveling up. Angel Reese, the two-time WNBA All-Star known as “Bayou Barbie,” has officially joined the cast of “The Hunting Wives” for Season 2, stepping into a co-starring role described as “Trainer Barbie.”
And honestly? That name alone tells me we’re about to get a whole new level of chaos.
The Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman-starring series became a breakout hit for Netflix this summer and is currently in production in the U.S.
Season 2 will be an eight-episode Netflix branded release in nearly all countries where Netflix is available, but a premiere date has not been announced yet.
Reese joins a stacked list of newly announced cast additions including John Stamos, Kim Matula, Alex FitzAlan, Dale Dickey, and Cam Gigandet.
If you’re not familiar with Angel Reese beyond the headlines, she rose to stardom after helping lead the LSU Tigers to the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.
She now plays for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA, where she’s a two-time All-Star and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team in 2024.
Season 2 will also bring back familiar faces, including Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez, Hunter Emery, and Branton Box.
Based on May Cobb’s bestselling novel, “The Hunting Wives” is created by showrunner, writer, and executive producer Rebecca Cutter. Executive producers include Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb.
