Young Thug is trending in the streets of X (formerly Twitter) as his high-profile YSL trial begins.
The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, was arrested in May 2022 and charged with participating in a criminal street gang, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act.
The 88-page indictment, filed in Fulton County, includes a list of 181 crimes going back as far as 2013 and characterizes YSL as a street gang and a record label.
Jury selection in the case began in January and it has been a judicial circus of shenanigans, tomfoolery, and chaos.
As the YSL trial begins, many have taken to social media to react to the prosecutor’s opening statement where she referenced Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, the judge having a service dog in court and asking people not to throw food at him, and more.
