Kansas City Chiefs star Xavier Worthy is suing ex-fiancée Tia Jones for allegedly lying about assault and causing over $150K in damages.
Here’s what we know so far about the explosive lawsuit.
📌 Here’s The Situation
Things have taken a serious turn between Xavier Worthy and Tia Jones.
Just weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, he’s now suing his ex-fiancée, accusing her of making false claims and destroying his property.
The charges against Worthy were dropped, but the legal drama is far from over.
📁 What Xavier Worthy Is Claiming
According to a civil lawsuit filed Monday in Williamson County, Texas, the 21-year-old NFL star says Tia Jones — a former track and field standout — lied when she accused him of assault earlier this month.
Here’s what Worthy alleges in the filing:
- Tia ripped out his hair and trashed his game room
- She stole $30,000 in cash, plus jewelry, a handgun, and keys to his Rolls Royce
- She caused more than $150,000 in damage
- And she made up the assault allegations after he asked her to move out
Worthy says he hired a private investigator who uncovered that Jones was cheating, and that’s when he told her to leave the $2 million home they shared.
Not long after, the allegations against him hit the headlines — but now he’s flipping the narrative.
He’s suing for $250,000 to $1 million and wants a jury trial.

⚖️ Protective Orders On Both Sides
This isn’t just a one-sided legal battle.
Court records show that Tia filed a protective order against Xavier earlier this month. But on Monday — the same day he filed the lawsuit — he filed one against her too.
Neither side is saying much publicly right now. Tia’s lawyer hasn’t responded to requests for comment, and Worthy’s attorney, Samuel Bassett, is keeping things quiet too.
💔 A Quick Look At Xavier Worthy & Tia Jones’ Relationship
If you’ve followed this couple online, you know their romance had all the makings of a love story — until it didn’t.
- They met by chance at a valet stand in Texas
- Got engaged in July 2024
- Bought a $2 million home together that same month
- Tia even shared her excitement on TikTok about moving in with him
At the time, Tia was training in Texas, and Xavier was still playing for the University of Texas.
Fast forward a few months, and he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs as the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Big moment. Big season. And now, big drama.
