A woman who lost her pregnancy after sustaining multiple injuries while attending Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

Shanazia Williamson and her husband Jarawd Owens of Dayton, Ohio were expecting a child before the festival.

According to the suit, Shanazia was “trampled and crushed resulting in horrific injuries and ultimately the death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”

“In addition, Shanazia sustained injuries to her shoulder, back, leg, chest, stomach, and other parts of her body,” the suit says.

The lawsuit filed against Travis Scott, promoters Live Nation and ScoreMore, security company Valle Services SMG, ASM Global, and the Harris County Sports and Convention corporation accuses the defendants of being negligent for a number of reasons including having inadequate security, and medical personnel for the festival.

The suit also states, “Defendants’ failure to plan, design, manage, operate, staff, and supervise the event was a direct and proximate cause of Shanazia’s injuries and death of her and Jarawd’s unborn child.”

The news of the wrongful death suit, which was filed in December, is making headlines a day after Diddy announced Travis Scott would be performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 15 in Las Vegas.

The timing is uncanny if I must say so myself.

However, I extended my prayers and deepest condolences to Shanazia and Jarawd on the loss of their baby.
