A somber investigation is unfolding in Tempe after a Wells Fargo employee was discovered deceased at her desk, reportedly four days after her last clock-in.

The body of 60-year-old Denise Prudhomme was found on August 20, having clocked in on August 16, according to police.

Employees are in shock and grief-stricken over the incident.

One worker shared their horror with 12News, expressing unease over the fact that Prudhomme’s death went unnoticed for so long.

“It’s deeply unsettling,” the employee said. “To think she was alone like that, and no one checked in.”

Prudhomme’s cubicle, located on a less trafficked third floor, went unnoticed despite reports of a foul smell that some attributed to plumbing issues.

Employees were puzzled by the lack of discovery, given the building’s 24/7 security presence.

Tempe police have confirmed there’s nothing suspicious about the death, but details on the cause and exact time of death remain unclear.

Wells Fargo issued a statement expressing their condolences and confirming their cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and are providing support to our employees through our Employee Assistance Consulting service,” the spokesperson said.

As the investigation continues, the tragedy raises unsettling questions about workplace safety and employee welfare.

My sincerest condolences to the Prodhomme family.
