Uza Aduba is set to star in Netflix’s “The Residence,” a comedic screwball whodunit from Shondaland.
In the series, the 3X Emmy-winning actress will play the role of Cordelia Cupp, a detective for the Metropolitan Police Department.
Cordelia is drawn into White House intrigue after one catastrophic state dinner. There she finds 132 rooms, 157 suspects — and one dead body.
“The Residence” explores the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs realms of the White House, shining a light on the eclectic staff of the famous presidential mansion.
The eight-episode series is inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” however the book isn’t filled with corpses and detective work.
Uzo Aduba took to Instagram to announce her new role writing:
“My new Residence :). Honored to share in this incredible story, and grateful to link arms with this remarkable team. #Shondaland @shondarhimes @beersbetsy @netflix @shondaland”
