Tyrese Tackles Police Brutality, Death Of George Floyd In 8:46 Cinematic ‘Legendary’ Video

Tyrese Gibson has released, “Legendary,” (featuring CeeLo Green) his first single in five years, as well as a powerful music video, to accompany it.

The Deon Taylor-directed cinematic visual is eight minutes and 46 seconds long – the amount of time a police officer knelt on the neck of George Floyd until he killed him.

Gibson says, “The power of cinema is that it can shift worlds, shift paradigms.”

Blending Black Lives Matter protest footage and dramatic re-enactments of prominent instances of police brutality against Black people in America, this video leaves no room for uncertainty.

In the final sequence, Tyrese offers an alternative ending to the too common narrative – and a moment to catch our breath as well as our collective consciousness.
