After days of protests and civil unrest, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison will announce aiding and abetting charges against the three other ex-Minneapolis officers involved in the killing of George Floyd.
Charges against Derek Chauvin, who has already been arrested for 3rd-degree murder and manslaughter in the killing, will be upgraded to 2nd-degree murder, according to Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
The news comes on the heels of Governor Tim Walz announcing civil rights charges against the Minneapolis Police Department.
Attorney Benjamin Crump released the following statement from the family:
This is a bittersweet moment. We are deeply gratified that @AGEllison took decisive action, arresting and charging ALL the officers involved in #GeorgeFloyd’s death and upgrading the charge against Derek Chauvin to felony second-degree murder. #JusticeForGeorge

As we await the official announcement, Drake took to social media to share his thoughts:
The charges are one step. But, we need a conviction and accountability.
