Tyrese Gibson took to social media on Monday with an unsupervised and fiery message for his ex-wives about protecting his wealth.

The 45-year-old singer and Fast X actor was previously married to Norma Gibson (whom he refers to as Baby Mama No. 1) from 2007 to 2009.

They share a daughter, Shayla Somer Gibson.

Tyrese was also married to Samantha Lee Gibson (whom he calls Baby Mama No. 2) from 2017 to 2020.

They share a daughter, Soraya Gibson.

In a lengthy and heated rant, the “Sweet Lady” singer vowed to protect his wealth from his ex-wives by any means necessary—even if it meant he had to “shoot, stab, and kill.”

I’m sure a judge won’t take too kindly to these kind of remarks on social media.

What Is Tyrese Gibson’s Net Worth?

Tyrese Gibson has had his share of financial ups and downs, and some of them have played out publicly on social media and in courtrooms.

Let’s break down the key moments that have raised questions about the Fast & Furious star’s finances and explore what it might reveal about Tyrese’s net worth.

Back in November 2017, Tyrese shocked fans by posting a cryptic message on Instagram, claiming he was “desperate and broke.”

At the time, he was embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with his ex-wife, Norma Mitchell.

In his post, he vented frustrations at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, accusing him of delaying the Fast & Furious franchise by focusing on the spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw.

Tyrese alleged he needed his paycheck from the franchise, claiming mounting child support and legal fees had drained him financially.

Adding to the drama, Tyrese said that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith had loaned him $5 million to help with his financial woes.

However, the Smiths later denied giving him any money, leaving fans wondering about the truth behind his claims.

Tyrese eventually walked back some of his erratic behavior, explaining in a follow-up post that he’d had an adverse reaction to medication, which contributed to his bizarre social media outbursts.

Revealing Court Filings

During this turbulent time, court filings revealed the following about Tyrese’s financial situation:

  • Monthly income: $105,000
  • Monthly expenses: $107,000
  • Bank balance: $900,000
  • Real estate assets: $1.7 million
  • Legal debt: $133,000

These numbers painted a picture of someone living just beyond their means, even with a substantial income.

Fast forward to August 2022, during his divorce alimony case with ex-wife Samantha Lee. Her lawyers pointed out that Tyrese earned $2 million in 2018, the same year he claimed to be struggling financially.

This revelation didn’t sit well with Tyrese, who fired back at the opposing lawyer, saying, “I don’t do the CFO thing. Here’s a question for you, smart person…” before being cut off by the judge, who threatened to hold him in contempt.

While exact figures can vary, Tyrese’s publicized financial struggles give fans a peek behind the curtain of Hollywood wealth.

Despite earning millions, it’s clear that legal battles, child support, and high living costs have significantly impacted his finances.

  1. Everyone making a substantial amount of money should have a non-breakable pre-nup. They need to protect what they work for. Just because you make a certain amount a year doesn’t mean that’s what’s in your bank account. You have all types of expenses (medical, child support, utilities, mortgage, food, car notes/insurance, etc.). I pray that he gets through this without going completely broke.
