After nearly five years of legal back and forth, Tyrese Gibson is officially closing a difficult chapter of his life.
The singer and actor took to social media to announce that his divorce from Samantha Lee has finally been finalized, describing the journey as one of the most emotionally draining seasons he has ever endured.
In a lengthy and deeply personal post, Tyrese reflected on the toll the process took, revealing that the divorce stretched over four and a half years and cost more than $2 million in legal fees.
He also spoke candidly about the public scrutiny that followed, estimating nearly $50 million in reputational and PR damage as the world watched his divorce and child support battles unfold in real time.
Despite the chaos, Tyrese claims that he never stopped showing up.
He shared that he continued creating music during the storm, releasing his album Beautiful Pain, a project he admitted he is still amazed he managed to finish.
More importantly, he emphasized that he remained a present and loving father, even during moments that humbled him deeply.
This past Christmas, Tyrese spent the holiday alone, not by choice, but because he could not bring his entire family together under one roof in the way he was accustomed to.
Still, he noted that his daughters were spoiled and cared for, a reality that grounded him and shifted his perspective.
For Tyrese, setbacks were simply setups.
With his divorce now finalized, he says he feels liberated and ready to move forward.
He confirmed that love is still very much intact with Zelie Timothy and revealed ambitious plans ahead, starting with a birthday and New Year’s celebration in Turks and Caicos.
According to Tyrese, the upcoming white party will be legendary, right down to an all-white-dressed horse. Yes, even the horse got the memo.
From Turks and Caicos, his plans include stops in Doha, Dubai, Africa, and the Maldives, followed by appearances during awards season at the Grammys, the Oscars, and the Vanity Fair afterparty.
Capricorn season, according to Tyrese, will be celebrated on an entirely new level as he gears up for his December 30 birthday and a New Year’s 2026 celebration he promises will be unforgettable.
Throughout his message, Tyrese leaned heavily on faith, quoting Psalm 23:5 and declaring that his cup still runs over.
He credited God for carrying him through the storm and expressed gratitude for surviving a season he believes only divine intervention could have written.
He closed the post by encouraging prayer, both for himself and for others, reminding followers that God is not done yet.
