Tyler James Williams recently teased the “Abbott Elementary” Season 2 finale, and he talked about how the show resonates with teachers.
Tyler said for the finale, they took a field trip and they filmed the episode in Philadelphia.
He said it was beautiful to see the people of Philly respond to the show creator, Quinta Brunson.
“Abbott Elementary” is normally filmed at Warner Brother Studios in Los Angeles, California.
Tyler said you’re going to want to watch the finale live because a lot of things happen, and it’s going to be good.
Jennifer Hudson asked Tyler what does it mean for him to hear from real-life teachers, and he responded:
That’s huge, man!… I mean, not always do you get a chance to make something that directly resonates with the people whose stories you’re telling.
And they feel so seen by it, and I think teachers response to the show has been incredible.
I was recently doing a talk at the University of Wisconsin, and some teachers there had come to me, they were teachers who were beginning their journeys, had just ended their journeys, and for them to say thank you for giving me something to laugh and process all the information with was really beautiful.
I love that it’s been, like, not just entertaining but, like, therapeutic for people also, you know what I mean, it’s a hard job! It is not easy to do.
And they need to be able to work through that and to have something to just laugh about.
So that’s really, to me, what’s most, like, gratifying with this experience.

Tyler James Williams’ Amazing Awards Season
Tyler James Williams has won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as “Gregory Eddie” on the hit ABC sitcom.
He also scooped a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Comedy Series.
Last, but certainly not least, Tyler won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series/Musical-Comedy.

Abbott Elementary takes a field trip to the Franklin Institute.
Gregory is eager to spend time with a reluctant Janine who is avoiding him.
Ava teaches the students about aliens, leading to chaos when someone spots an extraterrestrial in the museum.
