Ben Simmons has officially been traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Brooklyn Nets, and Sixers fans are expressing their excitement on Twitter.
The official trade sends Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round picks to Brooklyn in exchange for James Harden.
Philly fans have been wanting Simmons gone since his poor performance in last year’s playoffs in the Atlanta series.
Even his coach at the time, Doc Rivers, said Simmons future with the team was uncertain after they loss to the Hawks in the playoffs.
Sixers fans on Twitter are ecstatic about getting rid of Simmons and acquiring Harden, but Harden hasn’t been playing great basketball lately.
His scoring has declined from 36.1 points per game to 22.5 points per game in the last five years, which is still solid but not as impactful as it use to be.
Harden has also put on a few pounds, and like Simmons he’s known to have scoring lapses in the playoffs.
Sixers fans think they’re getting 2018 MVP James Harden. I don’t think so, but time will tell.
