Tiffany Haddish has settled her child sex abuse lawsuit, but the damage to her career may be irreversible.
The comedian and actress and Aries Spears were accused of grooming and molesting siblings when they were minors.
The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (August 30) by siblings identified only as Jane Doe, now 22, and John Doe, who was born in 2007.
Initially, Tiffany’s attorney called the lawsuit a shakedown, but after a “Funny or Die” skit, featuring one of the alleged victims, began circulating online, the tide quickly turned.
The Girls Trip star publicly expressed regret for participating in the skit with Aries Spears.
I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you.
Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now.
But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.
I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.

Earlier this week, both Tiffany and Aries settled the case.
TMZ caught up with Tiffany Haddish while she was walking through Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday and she said she “lost everything.”
“Oh, I lost everything. All my gigs, gone. Everything, gone. I don’t know, bro. I don’t have no job. I don’t have no job, bro.”
In spite of losing everything, Tiffany said she is “relieved” that the case is over.
“I was really concerned about the kids and making sure they were okay,” she added.
Tiffany is also being very intentional in keeping her distance from Aries Spears.
She told TMZ, “I don’t talk to him. I don’t deal with him.”

Rapper Lil Boosie took to social media to stand 10 toes down with Tiffany Haddish and encouraged her to make her own films.

Someone commented, “Of course, the person who hired someone to sexually assault his underage children thinks that Tiffany Haddish is the victim.”
Tiffany Haddish is currently trending on Twitter as people react to her post-lawsuit plight.
One person wrote, “I can’t seem to feel bad for Tiffany Haddish, those were her homegirls kids, and she told her that they were doing something for Nickelodeon. I seen the skit and it was honestly cringy and disturbing. Both herself and Aries knew better. Protect children at all costs.”
