The Dream is trending in the streets of Twitter as the public reacts to Channii Monroe’s lawsuit accusing the hit-making producer of rape, sexual battery, and sex trafficking.

Channii Monroe’s Lawsuit Against The-Dream

Channii claims that in 2015, The-Dream used promises of advancing her music career to entangle her in an abusive relationship, forcing her to have sex, strangling her, and making a video recording of an intimate encounter which he later used to threaten her.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, portrays The-Dream as a manipulative figure who controlled Channii Monroe’s life under the guise of career advancement.

Despite his celebrated career, including writing hits like Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” Channii’s suit describes a darker side, accusing him of sex trafficking and severe abuse.

Channii Monroe’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated, “This is yet another horrific example of how men in the music industry use their power and influence to manipulate and harm others.”

Channii expressed that the abuse made it impossible for her to pursue her career goals and hopes that sharing her story will prevent future abuse.

The-Dream, through a representative, denied the allegations, calling them untrue and defamatory.
