During a video shared on his official Instagram account, Lee admitted he had no idea fans were still this passionate about “Star.”
After seeing the overwhelming love for the series years after its cancellation, he revealed that he’s determined to find a way to bring it back.
But then came the plot twist.
Lee Daniels said he’s planning to reach out to the Zeus Network to see if they would be interested in bringing the series back.

I love that Lee Daniels recognizes how much this show still means to fans.
The comments under his video prove people have never truly moved on from “Star.”
But hearing Zeus Network as the potential home for the reboot definitely caught me off guard.
Why Fans Still Love ‘Star‘
Created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy, “Star” aired on Fox from 2016 through 2019 and quickly built a passionate fanbase.
The series followed three young women chasing their dreams in Atlanta’s competitive music industry while forming the girl group Take 3.
The main cast included:

- Brittany O’Grady
- Ryan Destiny
- Queen Latifah
What made the series so special wasn’t just the drama. It was the music.
I still think hitmaker Johntá Austin gave Take 3 some timeless records that I can throw on today without skipping a beat.
Those songs had absolutely no business being that good.
Even years after Fox canceled the series without giving fans a proper ending, people continue to stream the music, rewatch episodes, and campaign for its return.
Could A ‘Star’ Reboot Actually Happen?
Right now, there’s no official reboot announcement.
Lee Daniels simply shared that he plans to reach out to Zeus Network to gauge its interest.
Whether that conversation leads anywhere remains to be seen, but one thing is crystal clear.
The demand is still there.
