Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy has set off a chain of events reopening old wounds for Shyne.
The former Bad Boy rapper, whose real name is Jamal Barrow, served 8 years in prison for a 1999 nightclub shooting involving Diddy.
After his release, Shyne was deported to Belize, where he picked up the pieces of his life, started a family, and became a politician.
After Lil Rod filed his lawsuit, Natania Reuben, the victim in that nightclub shooting spoke out saying it was Diddy who shot her in the face – not Shyne.

While speaking with the media in Belize, Shyne reaffirmed his innocence and stated that he “was the fall guy” in that nightclub shooting.
But, like a true politician, he stopped short of saying Diddy pulled the trigger.
Everyone knew all along that I was the fall guy.
But my political enemies and, you know, detractors try to make me into, you know, this criminal.
But everyone knew that I was a young kid that took the fall.
Everyone knew that, that was the story.
I’m just saying that I maintained my innocence all this time.
Watch below.
Shyne says he maintains his innocence and admits he was the fall guy, as he reacts to Natania Reuben claims that Diddy shot her in the face in the 1999 New York nightclub shooting, not Shyne.

The district attorney did charge Diddy with gun possession and bribery in connection to the 1999 nightclub shooting, but he was acquitted of all charges.
Shyne, now at the helm of the Belize United Democratic Party, expressed his determination to move beyond his conviction and deportation.
Yet, he admits feeling a sense of relief as more individuals are speaking out with honesty.
