Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a producer on The Love Album, filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs accusing him of sexual assault, sex trafficking, drugging, and grooming him.
‘The Love Album’
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones is an incredibly talented musician, music producer, songwriter, and videographer.
He received what he thought was the opportunity of a lifetime when he was enlisted to work on Diddy’s comeback album, The Love Album: Off The Grid.
Lil Rod buckled down and worked tirelessly on the album between September 2022 and November 2023.
He has production credits on eight songs including: “Deliver Me,” “Homecoming,” “Stay Awhile,” “Moments,” “Needed Somebody,” “Reaching,” “What’s Love,” and “Stay Part 1.”
The Love Album: Off The Grid received a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Progressive Album.
Initially, the recording process appeared to be going well.
In January 2023, Lil Rod posted a video of himself and Diddy working out.
The caption read, “Health is wealth @diddy”
However, by early February 2024, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones found himself battling Sean “Diddy” Combs for the producer’s rate, publishing shares, and royalties owed to him for his work on The Love Album.
Lil Rod shared a video clip via Instagram that appears to show Diddy and others laughing at him about his publishing.
The caption on the post reads:
Y’all celebrating Grammy week.
I’m currently nominated on an album I produced at least 9 songs.
I should be celebrating but I’m currently quietly fighting for my publishing for months.
I took a year straight off to do work on this album and I’m definitely not being showed Love.
Stevie J, who also worked on the project, jumped in the comments writing:
Post the whole video don’t make it seem like n— sitting around joking on you x you didn’t produce 9 songs on the project.
Adding a piano on a song doesn’t make you the producer adding bass on a song definitely doesn’t make you a producer.
Tell the whole story on how you came in as an engineer, don’t get selective amnesia and don’t try to make the homie look like he stealing from you because clearly I know that ain’t the case! #DZ4Life
We’ll have more on Stevie J later…
Help Me Sue Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
On February 5, 2024, Lil Rod launched a GoFundMe campaign to solicit money from his supporters to aid his efforts to fight Diddy for the money owed to him for his work on The Love Album.
The campaign reads:
After working over one year straight on Diddy’s Love Records’ ‘THE LOVE ALBUM: Off The Grid’, as a producer and writer, I find myself fighting for my producer’s rates (money), publishing shares, and royalties for works done on this project.
For the better part of the past 6 months, my team and I have extended every opportunity we knew possible to have these matters addressed and resolved (fairly) but in private.
However, Diddy’s negotiation tactics, to stall communications, dry out (my) funds, and have me negotiating out of desperation or without a real means of fighting back has forced me here!
Mr. Combs have continued these methods with my team and I throughout the negotiations process, knowing our finances doesn’t match his and theoretically would have us either settle for something terribly less than what’s earned/owed and/or keep us from suing him thereafter.
As you can see and he now knows, I will fight back!
Unfortunately, the fight will cost more time, efforts and frustrations, as I attempt to reach the $50,000.00 goal to retain my litigating attorney to put this case in court.
I’ve also been advised this situation could cost as much as $300K should it go to trial.
I’m aware that this isn’t the most economical vibrant time for many, as I ask, if you are in the position to assist me in any way…
Please help! No donation amount is too small and will certainly be appreciated and on behalf of myself and all creatives that Mr. Combs has (allegedly) taken advantage of…
I’d like to say Thank You in advance!
Lil Rod also posted a video on his Instagram page explaining why he had to resort to launching a GoFundMe campaign.
Despite his $50,000 goal, the fundraiser garnered just under $1,500 in donations.
Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones Sues Diddy For Sexual Assault
On Monday, February 26, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a $30 million lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York federal court and the allegations are damning.
The lawsuit uncovers multiple instances of alleged sexual harassment, sexual assault, sex trafficking, grooming, drugging, sex workers, and underaged girls during the 14 months Lil Rod worked on The Love Album.
According to Lil Rod, Diddy would often parade around naked in front of him and he believed the music mogul was “grooming him to pass him off to his friends.”
He also accused Diddy of groping his genitals and forcing him to watch a video of Stevie J having sex with another man.
A screen grab of the alleged video was included in the lawsuit.
Lil Rod also claims that a female cousin of City Girls rapper Yung Miami sexually assaulted him when she attempted to have sex with him in front of Diddy and members of his staff.
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones also alleges that Diddy brought prostitutes to his Miami home and on one occasion Rodney believes he was drugged and possibly raped.
The complaint states, “Mr. Jones believes Mr. Combs drugged him. Mr. Jones recalls waking up naked, dizzy, and confused. He was in bed with two sex workers and Mr. Combs.”
You may recall that Cassie detailed Diddy’s “Freak Off” parties in her shocking lawsuit against him.
The complaint contains numerous photos showing parties at Combs’ residence, where it’s claimed that minors and sex workers were trafficked and provided with drugs.
There are also photos of Rodney engaged in sex acts that he claims Diddy forced him to participate in.
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. is also named in Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy.
The producer claims Diddy introduced him to Cuba on his yacht and the actor began touching, groping, and fondling Mr. Jones’s legs, his upper inner thighs near his groin, the small of his back near his buttocks and his shoulders.”
You may recall that Cuba Gooding Jr. is currently facing two sexual assault civil lawsuits from women who claim he groped them in separate incidents in 2018 and 2019.

Drive-By Shooting
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones also alleges Diddy and his son Justin Combs got into a heated argument at a Los Angeles recording studio.
Gunfire erupted a man named “G” was shot and bleeding profusely from his stomach.
Rodney claims Diddy instructed him to lie and say “G” was shot in a drive-by.
The LAPD did indeed investigate the shooting and determined the victim was shot out outside of the studio during a robbery and ran into the studio while bleeding.
Other Lawsuit Defendants
In addition to Sean “Diddy” Combs, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones is suing Combs’ chief of staff, Kristina Krorram; his son, Justin Combs; Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge and the label; former Motown Records CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam and the label; and Combs Enterprises, along with several others, face accusations of colluding with Combs and benefiting from his purported illegal activities within a RICO enterprise, akin to organized crime.
Diddy’s Attorney Addresses Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones’ Allegations
Diddy’s attorney, Shawn Holley, told TMZ Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones is a liar looking for a payday.
Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday.
His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.
We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies.
Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls.
We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.
