Matt Barnes recently proposed to his lady of five years Anansa Sims, who happens to be the daughter of legendary model Beverly Johnson.
Beverly Johnson was the first African American model to appear on the cover of American Vogue magazine in 1974 and the French edition of Elle magazine in 1975.
She turned 70 on October 13, 2022, and she is still stunning.
Matt Barnes is an NBA Champion turned sports analyst (ESPN) and podcaster.
He won an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2017, his last year in the NBA.
Anansa Sims is a plus-sized model, a business owner, a motivational speaker, and she’s appeared on a few television shows (America’s Next Top Model and Beverly’s Full House).
Matt shared pictures of his proposal on his Instagram page today (December 26).
The proposal appears to have happened in their home in front of the Christmas tree.

Their celebrity friends congratulated them in the comments section.
Matt and Anansa have a 4-year-old son together, and they both have children from previous marriages.
Anansa has three children from her previous marriage to former Atlanta Falcons football player David Patterson, and Matt has twins boys by philanthropist and author Gloria Govan, who is now married to his ex-teammate (Lakers 2010-2012) Derek Fisher.
Altogether they are a family of eight.
Matt and Anansa were friends during their college years at UCLA, and they rekindled their friendship in 2017 after their divorces.
Three years ago, the couple had a very public and nasty split that involved a restraining order.
They ultimately got back together and have been happy ever since.
We wish Matt Barnes and Anansa Simms all the best in the future.
