Ryan Seacrest is putting a condo on his wrist and he’s cashing out of “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”
On Thursday, the longtime broadcaster announced his “tough, tough” decision to leave the show after co-hosting alongside Kelly Ripa for six years.
But, Ryan said he plans to move back to the west coast this spring ahead of the “American Idol” lives shows in Los Angeles.
Ryan Seacrest also honored Kelly saying in a statement:
Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career. She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.
I also want to thank [executive producer] Michael Gelman and the entire staff and crew — we’ve made memories to last a lifetime, met some of the most incredible people and had the warmest welcome into the homes of so many viewers across America. It’s been a memorable ride and now I’m excited to pass the baton to Kelly’s ‘real’ husband, Mark.
Kelly Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, will replace Ryan Seacrest as the permanent co-host of the show that will be rebranded as “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
Mark will be Kelly’s fourth co-host since she joined “Live” in 2001.
She initially co-hosted the show alongside Regis Philbin.
When Regis left the show in November 2011, Michael Strahan became co-host from September 2012 until April 2016.
Michael left the show to join “Good Morning America” and you may recall that there was a big stink around that.
Then, Ryan Seacrest joined the show in 2017.
