Ruth E. Carter has made history during Black History Month.

The Oscar-winning costume designer has become the first Black designer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Eddie Murphy and Oprah Winfrey were guest speakers at the ceremony on Thursday, February 25, where Ruth received the 2,694th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Motion Pictures.
