The layers behind the Richard Sherman arrest have been peeling back all day, and his wife Ashley Sherman’s 911 call puts a lot of things in perspective.
Ashley called 911 on Wednesday, prior to Sherman’s arrest, and told dispatch that he was “drunk and belligerent and threatening to kill himself.”
She said that he had drank a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Hennessy.
Ashley also said that Richard was fighting her uncle. You can hear the fear in her voice on the call, and the dispatcher’s attitude didn’t help the situation at all.
I need officers here now! He’s trying to leave now. In the house, he was being aggressive. He was wrestling with my uncle.
He’s threatening to kill himself. He has sent text messages to people saying he’s going to hang himself.
And, he’s saying that if the police show up — please don’t shoot is what I’m asking.
He said if the police show up, he’ll try to fight them.
It’s Richard Sherman! Like, ma’am, this is, like, a f***ing emergency! I need officers here now!

Sherman was arrested shortly after the call for trying to break into his in-laws’ house in Redmond, Washington.
There are also reports that Sherman ditched his car after a hit and run prior to going to his in-laws’ house.
Hopefully, Richard Sherman gets the help he needs.
