Precious Stephens, a New Orleans 911 operator, has been fired from her job and she is facing arrest for deliberately disconnecting emergency calls.
Precious, 25, worked for the New Orleans Parish Communication District, which dispatches first responders to 911 calls.
On August 24, the district reported to police that Stephens had deliberately disconnected emergency 911 calls without obtaining the necessary information needed to help those in need.
While conducting quality control on a set of calls on August 20 and August 21, the district became aware of what Precious Stephens was doing.
The district immediately notified police and fired Stephens.
Precious Stephens is wanted on one count of malfeasance in office and she is still at large.
Louisiana law defines malfeasance in office as unlawfully performing a job in public service. It can carry up to five years in prison.
Anyone with information about Stephens is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
