Pop Smoke: 5 People Arrested In Connection To Fatal Shooting Of Rap Star

The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested five people in connection to the fatal shooting of rap star Pop Smoke

The rapper, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, was at his home in Hollywood Hills when two masked and armed men who were wearing hoodies entered his home around 4:30 a.m.

The men fired multiple shots striking the rapper and critically wounded him. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

He was just 20-years-old.

Three adults and two juveniles have been arrested according to a tweet from the LAPD.

LAPD Detectives have arrested three adult males & two juvenile males related to the Feb 19th murder of Bashar Jackson, a New York based rapper known as Pop Smoke. We will provide further details as they become available.

LAPD Capt. Jon Tippet said Thursday:

We are confident we have the five individuals responsible for the killing of Bashar Jackson — Pop Smoke.

We believe that Pop Smoke posted his location on social media and that is how they found him.

The news of the arrests comes six days after the rapper’s posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, was released.

The Los Angeles Police Department has released the names and charges of the five people arrested in connection to the killing of Pop Smoke.

  • Corey Walker – Murder – $1 million bail
  • Keandre D. Rodgers – Murder – $1 million bail
  • Jaquan Murphy – Attempted Murder – $1 million bail
  • Juvenile 1 – Murder – $1 million bail
  • Juvenile 2 – Murder – $1 million bail
