💼 Misa Hylton Files Lawsuit Against Mary J. Blige
Whew, chile — this one is messy! Celebrity stylist and fashion powerhouse Misa Hylton has taken things to the next level by filing a lawsuit against her former client and longtime friend, Mary J. Blige.
According to court documents scooped up by AllHipHop, Misa says Mary straight-up interfered with her business relationship with Harlem rapper Vado — and now, she’s coming for her coins.
📜 Inside The Legal Drama: Allegations Of Interference
Misa claims her company, M.I.S.A. Management, signed Vado to a management deal back in July 2023. Under that deal, she was set to collect 20% of his earnings — fair game for any manager.
But according to the paperwork, Mary J. Blige — through her company Beautiful Life Productions — allegedly stepped in and did everything she could to pull Vado away from Misa.
Misa says Mary used her influence behind the scenes — think private yacht parties, fancy hotel meet-ups, exclusive events — to convince Vado to ditch his contract.
Even Mary’s head of security, who’s also allegedly her boyfriend, reportedly tried to push Vado to bounce from M.I.S.A., warning him he’d be missing out on major opportunities if he stayed.
🎤 Vado’s Album Gets Caught In The Middle
If that wasn’t enough drama, Misa also claims that Mary pulled the ultimate power move: refusing to release Vado’scompleted album — which he wrapped up in July 2024 — or allow him to hit the road for tour dates unless he cut ties with Misa’s management.
Basically, Vado got caught in the crossfire, stuck with an album nobody could hear and no real way to earn his money back.
💰 What Misa Hylton Is Seeking
Now, Misa isn’t playing. She’s suing for $5 million, citing:
- Breach of contract
- Emotional distress
- Interference with business relationships
She says Mary’s alleged shady moves left her with major losses — both financially and personally.

Crazy enough, things didn’t always look this ugly.
Remember when Mary signed Vado and even dropped their collab “Still Believe In Love” in 2023?
