Some stories are better left untold, but Mike Tyson isn’t afraid to open up about his past.
In a candid conversation with actress Rosie Perez for Interview magazine, the 58-year-old boxing icon revealed that two people he had a threesome with tragically passed away from AIDS—while he managed to escape unscathed.
Tyson, who’s gearing up for his highly anticipated Netflix bout with Jake Paul, shared a powerful reflection on life, fate, and survival.
The boxing legend told Rosie that he often feels “divinely protected” considering the early deaths of those close to him.
“There’s no way I should be here talking to you right now,” Tyson confessed.
“All my friends are dead. They OD’d, they had AIDS. Me and my friend both had sex with this girl at the same time, and they both died of AIDS. I didn’t catch AIDS. Raw, too.”
Rosie Perez, visibly stunned by the revelation, responded, “That’s crazy. You have a spirit hovering over you,” to which Mike simply said, “Amen. It’s something, sister.”
In a time when celebrities like Tyson are opening up about their struggles and pasts, his raw honesty only adds to the intrigue surrounding his life both inside and outside the ring.
Whether it’s through stories like this or his thrilling return to the spotlight, Mike Tyson continues to capture the public’s attention and defy the odds.
Who do think will be victorious in the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Netflix boxing event?
