Lezley McSpadden, the mother of Michael Brown Jr., took to social media on the eighth anniversary of his death and pleaded for help in re-opening her son’s case.

On August 9, 2014, Michael and a friend were walking down Canfield Drive in Ferguson, Missouri, when they were approached by police officer Darren Wilson

There was an altercation and Wilson shot the unarmed 18-year-old six times, killing him.

Wilson claimed he shot Michael Brown Jr. in self-defense, but eyewitnesses say the young man’s hands were in the air and he said, “Don’t shoot!”

After he was killed, Michael’s body remained in the street for four hours in the summer heat as residents in the neighborhood lashed out at police for mistreating his body.

Michael’s killing prompted days of protests and civil unrest in Ferguson.

In November 2014, a grand jury declined to indict Darren Wilson and the Justice Department later concluded that he acted in self-defense and he was justified in killing Michael Brown Jr.

Lezley McSpadden never received justice for her son’s death.

In a post on her Instagram page, she wrote, “8 yrs NO JUSTICE. Is there any way to reopen my son’s case someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!”

“My son was killed, murdered, assassinated in broad daylight with a complex full of people over 60 witnesses, he did NOT have a weapon the killer cop shot my son 7 times the last shot was to the top of my son’s head ejecting through his eye, officials then left his body to lay in the middle of CANFIELD RD. For 41/2 hours!! Please someone HELP ME GET MIKEMIKES CASE REOPEN!!!!”

Lezley also shared a beautiful tribute video dedicated to her son.

I sincerely hope someone with knowledge and experience will step in and answer Lezley’s call to help her get justice for Michael Brown, Jr.

My thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family.

RIP.
