Lupita Nyong’o took to social media on Tuesday and posted a beautiful tribute to her dear friend and Black Panther co-star, Chadwick Boseman.
It’s the first time, Lupita has publicly spoken about Chad since he departed this life on August 28 after a private 4-year battle with colon cancer.
In her tribute, the actress admitted she wrote her words “from a place of hopelessness” and she is “struggling to think and speak” about her friend, Chadwick Boseman, “in the past tense.”
Chadwick’s death is something that I can neither take in nor take in my stride right now. Perhaps with time…I’m going to take my time…and in his honor, I promise not to waste my time.
I hope you will do the same.

Chadwick’s funeral service will be held in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina.
Over the weekend, Chadwick’s family and Black Panther co-stars attended a private memorial service for him in Malibu, California.
My continued prayers and sincerest condolences to all who knew and love Chadwick.
