With this win, Blue Ivy has officially become the second-youngest Grammy winner in history at age 9.
Leah Peasall won Album of the Year for the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack in 2002 when she was 8.
“Brown Skin Girl” is featured on the 2019 album, The Lion King: The Gift.
Kanye West Wins Best Contemporary Christian Music Album For ‘Jesus Is King’
Kanye West scooped his first Gospel Grammy for his ninth solo album, Jesus Is King.
This is the 22nd Grammy win of his career.
I’m unsure if Ye is excited about the win considering he did this last year…
Tiffany Haddish Wins Best Comedy Album For ‘Black Mitzvah’
Tiffany Haddish has won Best Comedy Album for her Netflix comedy special, “Black Mitzvah.”
This is the first Grammy for the comedian and actress. She is also the second Black woman to win this award behind the great Whoopi Goldberg.
Nas Wins Best Rap Album For ‘King’s Disease’
After 27 years in the game and 14 Grammy nominations, Nas has finally won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for his latest release, King’s Disease.
John Legend Wins Best R&B Album For ‘Bigger Love’
John Legend has won Best R&B album for his seventh studio album, Bigger Love.
The EGOT winner took to social media writing:
So grateful to win my 12th Grammy today, my 3rd for Best R&B Album! Thank you to all my collaborators on #BiggerLove, especially my big brother and executive producer @raphael_saadiq. Thank you to my entire team. We all worked hard to make this album and then promote it during a global pandemic.
