Where Kiara Jenkins Was Found
According to Chicago police, Kiara was found around 4:30 a.m. in the alley behind her home near 64th Street and Drexel Avenue.
She had been shot multiple times.
At this time, investigators have not announced a suspect or shared a motive.
A Church Community Left Devastated
Kiara Jenkins was a lifelong member of Mt. Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn, and church members say she attended the early morning service regularly.
Those closest to her describe Jenkins as a kind, loving presence who poured into other people and made them feel supported.
Now, the community is mourning the loss of someone they say didn’t deserve this.
Her Family Is Trying To Hold Each Other Up
Jenkins’ five children range from a college freshman to 10 years old.
Her eldest child told ABC7 the family is doing their best to be there for each other while trying to process what happened.
