Kayla Smith To Play LL Cool J’s Daughter On ‘NCIS: LA’ Season 12

Kayla Smith has been cast as LL Cool J’s daughter in season 12 of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” which is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, November 8.

Kayla, who is the daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Kenny “The Jet” Smith, is a model and actress who has also had roles on “All-American,” “Star,” “Ambitions,” and the TBS reality show “Meet The Smiths.”

On “NCIS: LA” season 12 she will play the role of Kamran, who is Sam’s (LL Cool J) daughter.

NCIS: LA” Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill gave some insight on Kayla’s character saying:

We focus a bit more on [Sam’]s daughter, who is at the same military academy that he went to and trying to get into Annapolis.

We never really spent much time with his daughter, who is getting to a point where maybe she doesn’t share in the plan her father has thought she was going to take. So that creates some conflict.

She’s very socially active in terms of what’s going on in the world, and clashes with her father over some of that because he feels that her involvement with things like protests could theoretically jeopardize her chance of getting into Annapolis.

We look forward to seeing Kayla in the new season of “NCIS: LA.”
