Kayla Nicole has broken her silence after weeks of being dragged into whatever her ex-boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is doing with Taylor Swift.
Who Is Kayla Nicole?
Kayla Nicole is a beautiful on-air sports journalist, model, and fashion influencer.
She graduated from Pepperdine University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
After flirting on Instagram for a while, Kayla reached out to Travis Kelce via DM.
They began dating in 2017 and were on and off over the course of five years until they split for good in May 2022.
It wasn’t until recently, when the Kansas City Chiefs baller began frolicking with Taylor Swift, that Kayla Nicole got dragged back into the convo.
Dear Black Girl…
Kayla Nicole took to social media over the weekend and shared an open letter she wrote titled, “Dear Black Girl.”
Kayla’s letter – aimed at empowering Black women – also appeared to be a response to all of the unnecessary criticism and hate that she has received on social media (from Swifties) and the unwarranted attention she’s received in the media.
In the video posted on her Instagram page, Kayla Nicole shared this message before she began to recite her letter aloud:
Hey Guys, Kayla here.
It’s always been really important for me to use my platform – not to create division – but, to elevate and unite women.
Black women, specifically.
So, I prepared a letter and would like to share it with you today.
She goes on to address the hate she received for dating outside of her race saying:
They may call you a traitor for falling in love.
You’ll hope the ones closest will protect you but quickly realize people don’t protect what they don’t value.
Kayla also addressed the Taylor Swift fan who noted that the singer was an upgrade because of her net worth.
They’ll say you’re too much…and in the same breath, tell you you’re not enough. Not successful enough, not wholesome enough, maybe not even intelligent enough.
They’ll even try to tie your value to your net worth.
