Jess Hilarious says she is ready to retire her comedic Instagram news breaks known as “Jess with the Mess” after she mocked Chadwick Boseman‘s weight loss not knowing he was battling cancer.
On Jackie Robinson Day (April 15), the actor took to social media to announce the launch of Thomas Tull’s #Operation42, a donation of 4.2 million dollars in personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals that service the African American communities who have been hit the hardest by the Covid-19 pandemic.
But, many were distracted by his severe weight loss and expressed concerned about his health.
Others, like Jess, made light of Chadwick’s appearance. It’s something she now regrets.
Jess Hilarious took to social media on Saturday to share her heartbreak over Chadwick’s passing.
That’s when a fan reminded Jess of her “funny” (now deleted) clip of “Jess with the Mess” when she mocked Chadwick’s weight loss.
I was thinking about the Jess with the Mess video you did not too long ago where you talked about Chadwick’s Boseman’s weight and how skinny he looked and at the time is was funny but now it’s like woah…. he was skinny like that because of his cancer ?
That’s when Jess responded saying she’s retiring “Jess with the Mess” because she doesn’t want to talk about people anymore.
She also issued an apology.
MAAAAANNN WHEN I TELL YOU IM RETIRING JESS WITH THE MESS! Mannnn I’ll be the 1st to say, I’m tired of talking bout people. N***a I ain’t sleep all night. I don’t wana talk about people no more PERIOD yo! I was just saying idk wanna do it for months now. But I know my fan base loves it. Yo I can’t do it no more. N***a you just never know what somebody is going through Nd I’m so sorry.

While many fans commended Jess on her being real enough to admit she was wrong and for apologizing, others urged her to continue doing “Jess with the Mess.”
