Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are officially divorced.
According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia has agreed to dissolve the marriage of the former “The Real” co-host, 45, and the Atlanta rapper, 46.
The parents of 2-year-old daughter Monaco have decided to keep details of their divorce settlement private by filing their divorce under seal.
News of the finalized divorce comes nine months after Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, filed in September following two-and-a-half years of marriage.
His filing stated that the couple was “living in a bona fide state of separation” at the time and that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
The document also noted that Jeezy was seeking joint legal custody of their daughter.
Jeezy addressed the divorce in a statement a month after the news broke: “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.”
He continued, “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains, and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”
Jeannie Mai also commented on the divorce with an Instagram post featuring the words, “Sometimes, you need to take a break and disconnect, to heal,” written in a notebook.
In subsequent court documents, Mai alleged that Jeezy was unfaithful during their marriage, which complicated the divorce proceedings and seemingly violated their prenuptial agreement.
Mai’s filing detailed, “In the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communication, including but not limited to, texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media, and/or Direct Messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party as specified in said Prenuptial Agreement.”
A representative for Jeezy denied these accusations, stating, “Any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins’ behalf is 100% false, and he has no further statements at this time.”
In April, Mai accused Jeezy of domestic abuse and child neglect in another court filing.
She claimed that the rapper had “explosive outbursts, excessive drinking, and domestic violence,” citing an alleged incident in January 2022 where Jeezy berated her in a car and struck her, causing a subconjunctival hemorrhage.
With their divorce now finalized, both Jeezy and Mai face a new chapter in their lives as they move forward separately.
