jeezy releases statement about his divorce

Days after Jeannie Mai removed Jenkins from her name on her socials, Jeezy released a statement about his divorce. 

The rapper and author filed for divorce in September to end his 2-year marriage to the talk and game show host.

In his filing, Jeezy said he and Jeannie Mai are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”

The Adversity For Sale author said the “decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.

He also noted, “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.

Jeezy added, “Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves.”

In closing, the rapper wrote, “During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”

During a recent appearance on the “Sherri Shepherd” show, Jeannie Mai opened up about the divorce saying: 

I’m not going to lie…you know it takes every day to just really sit and just be quiet in your thoughts, take care of me, but one thing I know is you give God your pain and he will give you his power. Period.

I wish Jeezy and Jeannie Mai the very best as they begin their new journeys.
