I am sad to report another young rapper, JayDaYoungan was gunned down outside of his home in Louisiana on Wednesday evening.
Bogalusa Police say the 24-year-old rapper, whose real name is Javorius Scott, was shot around 6 p.m. on the 600 block of Superior Ave.
His father, Kenyatta Scott Sr., was also shot. He was transported to a local hospital by someone at the scene.
JayDaYoungan, who was critically injured, was treated by paramedics at the scene and rushed to the hospital.
The rapper underwent emergency surgery, but unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries.
Police say at 7 p.m. a second shooting took place on the 800 block of Marshall Richardson Road.
A vehicle was shot and no one was hit, but police believe the incident is related to the first shooting.
Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette released the following statement in regards to the tragic shooting.
The senseless shooting in Bogalusa another tragic reminder of the pain that violent crime brings with it.
First I ask that our residents remain calm while the police continue their investigation.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims family and friends.
As your Mayor and as a Mother I plead on behalf of our community and for our children, today must mean enough is finally enough.
Stop the violence! See something, say something.
