Just when we thought we’d had enough of pondering the dark, mind-bending twists of “Black Mirror,” Charlie Brooker’s eerie anthology series is gearing up for Season 7, set to hit Netflix in 2025.

While we’re still reeling from the complexities of Season 6, the anticipation for the next installment is already building, especially with the latest news from Geeked Week, Netflix’s grand celebration of all things fandom.

This time around, Brooker and his team are keeping tight-lipped about specifics, but they’ve given us a tantalizing hint: one episode will be a sequel to the acclaimed Season 4 opener, “USS Callister.”

For those who need a refresher, that episode featured Jesse Plemons as Robert Daly, a brilliant yet discontented programmer who creates a simulated reality within a video game.

His escapades aboard a Star Trek-like starship, alongside digital clones of his real-life colleagues, quickly took a dark turn, blending sci-fi adventure with unsettling psychological depth.

Netflix’s “data drop” has also unveiled the impressive cast for the upcoming season, promising an ensemble packed with talent.

Here’s the list of stars joining the “Black Mirror” universe:

  • Awkwafina (Jackpot!)
  • Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don’t Talk Anymore)
  • Peter Capaldi (Criminal Record)
  • Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine)
  • Patsy Ferran (Firebrand)
  • Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers)
  • Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099)
  • Osy Ikhile (Citadel)
  • Rashida Jones (Sunny)
  • Siena Kelly (Domino Day)
  • Billy Magnussen (Road House)
  • Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean)
  • Cristin Milioti (The Penguin)
  • Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids)
  • Issa Rae (Barbie)
  • Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories)
  • Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish)
  • Jimmi Simpson (Westworld)
  • Harriet Walter (Succession)

The upcoming season promises to be as gripping as ever, with the “USS Callister” sequel hinting at even more high-stakes drama.

Netflix teased that while Robert Daly might be out of the picture, the crew of the USS Callister will face new and intriguing challenges.

Charlie Brooker continues to lead the charge as creator and executive producer, with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones also on board.

Their collaboration through Broke & Bones ensures that “Black Mirror” remains at the forefront of innovative and provocative storytelling.

As we count down to the 2025 premiere, it’s clear that Season 7 will be one of the most anticipated events in the world of streaming.
