Mark McCloskey and Patricia McCloskey, the couple who was hailed as folk heroes by conservatives for exercising their second amendment rights when they pointed guns at protestors, have been indicted.

Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner charged the couple with felony unlawful use of a weapon because their display of guns during a peaceful protest risked bloodshed.

The McCloskeys are also facing charges of tampering with evidence, but it’s unclear what led to the additional charge.

Mark and Patricia claim the protest wasn’t hardly peaceful. They claim protestors came on a private street knocking over an iron gate and ignoring the “No Trespassing” sign.

The McCloskeys claimed they felt threatened.

I could be me, but don’t most people who feel threatened or in harm’s way seek refuge and safety? Not grab their guns and come outside popping off.

Nine people involved in the protest were charged with misdemeanor trespassing, but the city counselor’s office later dropped the charges.

Mark McCloskey is hot as fish grease about being charged. He said:

Every single human being that was in front of my house was a criminal trespasser. They broke down our gate. They trespassed on our property. Not a single one of those people is now charged with anything. We’re charged with felonies that could cost us four years of our lives and our law licenses.

Welp.
