In a shocking development, Garth Brooks, the country music legend behind hits like “The Thunder Rolls,” is now facing serious sexual assault allegations.
A longtime make-up artist and stylist who has worked closely with both Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, filed a graphic lawsuit today in Los Angeles, accusing the singer of multiple brutal assaults.
The complaint, filed by the stylist under the pseudonym Jane Roe, claims that Brooks began subjecting her to unwanted sexual advances starting in 2019, when she found herself struggling financially.
The lawsuit states, “Brooks seized what he saw as an opportunity to subject a female employee to a side of himself that he conceals from the public.”
It goes on to describe horrific instances of rape, battery, and other assaults, with some details being so graphic that they were deemed “too sordid to mention.”
Seeking unspecified damages, Roe’s lawsuit reveals disturbing behavior that contradicts the family-friendly image Brooks projects.
The accusations have already sparked legal battles, with Brooks filing a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi, attempting to block the release of these allegations.
His federal court filing, made under the name John Doe, argued that the claims could cause “substantial, irreparable damage” to his reputation and career.
However, Jane Roe’s attorneys are pushing back hard.
Her complaint states, “Brooks is desperate to prevent his millions of fans from learning about the horrific things he has said and done to a junior female employee.”
It further calls out Brooks’ Mississippi lawsuit as an attempt to intimidate his accuser and game the legal system with his considerable wealth.
Representatives for Garth Brooks have yet to comment on the allegations.

Meanwhile, Roe’s legal team—comprising attorneys Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen, and Hayley Baker—praised their client’s bravery in coming forward.
“We applaud our client’s courage in moving forward with her complaint against Garth Brooks,” the attorneys said in a joint statement.
“This case demonstrates that sexual misconduct isn’t confined to corporate America or Hollywood—it can happen in the country music industry as well. We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions.”
