Garrett Rolfe, the Atlanta police officer facing murder charges in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks, has been reinstated.
Rolfe was fired on June 13, 2020, the day after he fatally shot Rayshard in a Wendy’s parking lot.
He later appealed his termination and the Atlanta Civil Service Board reversed his firing.
The board released the following:
Due to the City’s failure to comply with several provisions of the Code and the information received during witnesses’ testimony, the Board concludes the Appellant was not afforded his right to due process. Therefore, the Board grants the Appeal of Garrett Rolfe and revokes his dismissal as an employee of the APD.
Rolfe has been charged with felony murder in the death of Rayshard Brooks.
The case still has not been indicted.
