A tragic case out of Osceola County, Florida, has resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Kelsey Glover after witnesses reported seeing her holding her 14-year-old daughter’s head underwater in a bathtub.
Authorities are treating the incident as a potential homicide.
Glover has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, but the charges could escalate pending the medical examiner’s report to confirm the cause of death, according to Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez.
Disturbing Scene At The Florida Home
Deputies responded to an armed disturbance at Kelsey Glover’s residence after receiving emergency calls.
When they arrived, a violent altercation was still unfolding.
Witnesses stated they saw Glover holding her daughter underwater.
The teen was found unresponsive in an upstairs bathroom and rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Sheriff Lopez revealed that during the incident, Kelsey Glover attempted to attack a witness with a hammer as they tried to stop her from harming her daughter.
Deputies had to wrestle the hammer away from her upon arrival.
“There were four people in the house during the incident: Glover, the victim, another child, and a resident of the home,” Lopez said.
Investigation Uncovers Troubled History
This isn’t the first domestic issue involving Kelsey Glover.
Sheriff Lopez confirmed that Glover had a prior record for allegedly battering the girl’s father, who later secured a protective injunction against her.
Although the exact motive for the horrifying act is still unclear, authorities have launched a homicide investigation into the incident.
“It’s a dark day when things like this happen,” Lopez said during a press conference. “What happened to her is unimaginable, and we are determined to get justice.”
