Takk McKinley has been waived by the Atlanta Falcons due to injury, lack of progression, and his Twitter fingers.
Takk recently went on Twitter and called the Falcons clowns for not trading him prior to the trade deadline.
Somebody needs to tell Takk putting down your own stats is not an effective way to market yourself.
Coach Raheem Morris told the media that McKinley would be held accountable for his actions, and Monday morning coach Morris stood firm on his word.
The Falcons did not pick up McKinley’s $10.3 million fifty-year option prior to the season beginning, which probably had a lot to do with McKinley trying to clown the organization on Twitter.
Due to a groin injury, McKinley has only played in four games this season, and his stats in those four games have been underwhelming.
He recorded eight tackles, one tackle for a loss, and seven hits on the quarterback in the four games he played this season.
In Takk McKinley’s four seasons as a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons, he recorded 79 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, and 45 hits on the quarterback.
McKinley’s career stat line is not very impressive, and it’s going to be interesting to see what teams show interest.
According to McKinley, there were a handful of teams interested in him, but that’s hard to believe given his lack of progression.
Once McKinley clears waivers he will be a free agent, and the world will see what teams truly show interest.
