True Hip-Hop Frens… NPR Music just dropped an Eve Tiny Desk Concert that feels like a celebration of an era.
As part of its Black Music Month celebration, NPR Music welcomed Grammy Award-winning rapper and actress Eve to the Tiny Desk stage, and she reminded everyone why she’s one of the most influential women in hip-hop.
If you grew up watching “Rap City” and rushing home to catch “106 & Park,” this performance is going to take you back.
Eve Tiny Desk Concert Set List Features Fan Favorites
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of her album Scorpion, Eve delivered a set packed with classics that still hit just as hard today.
Backed by a live band and fresh arrangements, she performed:
- “Satisfaction”
- “What Ya Want”
- “Gotta Man”
- “Gangsta Lovin'”
- “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”
- “Tambourine”
- “Who’s That Girl”
The crowd knew every word, proving that Eve’s catalog remains timeless.
Eve’s Legacy Still Hits Different
Eve hasn’t released much music since relocating to London and starting a family, but her impact on hip-hop remains undeniable.
As the First Lady of Ruff Ryders Entertainment, she sold millions of records and became one of the most recognizable women in rap.
She later expanded into television and film while continuing to inspire a new generation of artists.
In 2024, Eve released a memoir reflecting on her rise during one of hip-hop’s most competitive eras and the challenges she faced along the way.
For the Eve Tiny Desk Concert, she teamed up with music director Mare, creating a hometown Philadelphia connection that made the performance feel even more special.
