Erica Mena Fired From ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Effective Immediately

Erica Mena has been fired from “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” after she called Spice a “blue monkey” during a heated exchange in Episode 12.

Shekinah got the ladies together to clear the air between them regarding Safaree, but things escalated quickly when Spice brought up Erica’s son and Erica flipped the table and called her a “blue monkey.”

Erica’s offensive and racist name-calling sparked outrage across social media from viewers.

Love & Hip Hop” released a statement on Saturday morning via its official Instagram account announcing Erica Mena will not appear on the next season of the popular reality series “effective immediately.”

The Love & Hip Hop franchise has never shied away from hard conversations in our community. Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remarks play out in the final three episodes of the season. Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

Mona Scott-Young, who is the CEO of Monami Productions, the production company behind “Love & Hip Hop,” took to her Instagram page and simply posted, “Handled.”

Erica Mena has not publicly reacted to the news of her firing, but the streets of social media are buzzing about it.
